In the next decade and beyond, video clips (or moving
pictures) will overtake email, sms, or any other text forms, as
the most important application over the Internet and mobile
networks everywhere. Many service providers and enterprises
alike will indulge in the proliferation of video clips as means
to advertise their products and services, enhance organisational
efficiency, or increase productivity. Human communications and
business collaborations will primarily be based on moving
pictures. If the pictures don’t move, businesses stop!
At the same time, the process of digitization of the
television networks, be it via cable, satellite or terrestrial
will be completed. This is further enhanced by the promise of
IP-TV and mobile video. At the least, all television signals
will be sent, exchanged, or broadcast in a digital format. The
only thing that may fall short will be the penetration of digital TV
set.
At Asia Media Systems (AMS), we stride to lead the video
digitisation wave in Asia, by assisting service providers and
enterprises to apply available technology into their
environment, be it to transform their data centres into digital
media centres, and uplift their networks to support the new
digital experience.
